Sammy Hagar says there wasn’t any animosity between him and original Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth during their joint 2002 tour, remembering only one crazy moment during that tour. It was in Raleigh, North Carolina when Dave was walking to the stage all dressed up with the Spandex and scarves and Sammy’s drummer said “How’s it going Ladies”…he meant to add “and Gentlemen”, but the last part came out too late and Dave flipped yelling expletives at the drummer. Sammy also added that Dave’s bodyguards started pushing people around, so the tour teams ended top creating a barricade between Van Halen and David Lee Roth, but he and Dave do not hate each other, adding jokingly that if they saw each other they’d hug …he doesn’t know for how long but they would hug.
