Exactly 29 years ago on this date…February 22, 1980, The USA Hockey team, compromised of some of the best college (junior) hockey players in the country, defeated the most powerful hockey teams on the planet, the Soviet Union. The Russians were made up of the best ADULT hockey players on earth.

The Russians blew out the Americans just a week earlier, and it looked like the United States would be completely overwhelmed.
