Alice Cooper is going to release a 6 song extended play album this fall call Breadcrumbs. Billed as a tribute to the garage heroes from Alice’s hometown of Detroit, the project features covers of MC5’S “Sister Anne”, Suzi Quatro’s “Your Mama Won’t Like Me:” and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels’ “Devil With A Blue Dress”. Cooper is joined on the new EP by a host of fellow Michigan natives including the MC5’s Wayne Kramer, former Grand Funk Railroad’s lead singer Mark Farner, ex-Detroit Wheels drummer Johnny “Bee” Badanjek as well as Mick Collins and Detroit Jazz singer Paul Randolph. Alice said they all knew each other and now 40 years later, playing together seems really natural adding that they’re all Detroit guys, so they kinda know what they’re looking for. Cooper says the new record is undefinable…there’s a certain amount of R & B in it and a certain amount of Motown, but then you add the guitars and attitude and it turns into Detroit rock. Breadcrumbs will be available in digital formats as well as via a limited-run of 20,000 numbered 10 inch vinyl copies and will be released September 13th.
