Rhino has announced that they’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Chicago’s debut album with a new remix issue! The debut album was called “Chicago Transit Authority” as that was the name of the band then before the actual Chicago Transit Authority complained about their name bring used by a rock band. The album features original members lead guitarist Terry Kath (who tragically died playing with guns back in 1978), keyboardist Robert Lamm, bassist and lead singer Peter Cetera, drummer Danny Seraphine as well as Chicago’s legendary horn section, Lee Loughnane on trumpet,m James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on saxophone. This double platinum album will be released on two disc vinyl lp as well as digitally. Chicago Transit Authority 50th anniversary re-issue is out August 30th.
